HISTORY

1973:
Robert Okholm bought E. Thomsen Metalvarefabrik in Copenhagen and moved production to facilities in Tønder.
The name was changed from E. Thomsen Metalvarefabrik to Scan Metal.
At the same time, and in the same room started OKHOLMS MASKINFABRIK A/S.

The name Scan Metal was kept as a trade mark as metal products production
got a new and more appropriate name Okholm Lighting, whose main production
is lighting.

Okholms Maskinfabrik A/S started as a subcontractor.

1983:
The companies moved to larger premises and separated into 2 separate companies.
Okholms Maskinfabrik A/S and Okholm Lighting A/S.

2007:
The companies moved to new premises, approximately 3000 m2 production area.
Here was established, in addition to the known production, an aluminum section with mass production for automotive industry.

OKM A/S has a production area of approximately 2000 m2.

2010:
Okholms Maskinfabrik A/S changed name to OKM A/S.

Okholm Lighting A/S is part of a generational change. Peter Okholm takes over.

2013:
Okholm Lighting moved to its own premises. OKM A/S has now 3000 m2 production area available.

2014:
An implementation of a digital value chain, has resulted in cost effectiveness and increased quality.
